February Festivals in Lima

Dia del Pisco Sour:February 8th
Carnival: February
Celebrated throughout the whole country, in Lima the most popular activity is to wet other people with water balloons and buckets of water, usually from houses, vehicles, or any way they can. Some places use paint but this is not so common. This is a wonderful holiday filled with celebration.
Festival of Verano Negro (Black Summer):
Dates change yearly for this festival. This is a festival in Chincha, which is locates in the department of Ica. The festivalís name is due to the fact that most of the people that live in Chincha have dark skin. During this time, one will find an abundance of wine and Negroide (typical folk music from this area). There are also beauty matches. To get here take a bus that goes to Ica and stop at Chincha. Tickets cost around 6 soles.
